Veena Kumari

PhD

Professor Kumari is a Professor of Experimental Psychology at Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience at King’s College London. She is also a member of the Sleep and Brain Plasticity Centre. She has been recently awarded the prestigious Humboldt Award in recognition of a lifetime of achievements in research. Humboldt Research Awards, granted by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, are awarded in recognition of a researcher's entire achievements to date, and to academics whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future.

Her lifelong research (>200 papers, H-index 57) focuses on the effects of pharmacological and psychological treatments, using a range of cognitive, psychophysiological and MRI approaches, on cognitive and affective deficits in sleep and other neuropsychiatric disorders including schizophrenia.
